Bet on anything

A dare, a diet, a deadline, a dinner — if you can say it out loud, Friendly Stakes can hold you both to it. Type the bet in your own words, set the stakes, and let the record do the remembering.

Stakes

Stakes worth playing for

Every bet names exactly what the loser owes. No real money ever moves through the app — stakes are promises between friends, and the app is the witness.

  • Drinks

The classic. First round, next round, a specific regrettable pitcher.

  • A meal

Loser buys — breakfast burritos to the steakhouse, winner's choice.

  • A chore

Lawns get mowed and garages get cleaned over lost bets.

  • Bragging rights

Sometimes the W is the whole prize. It still goes on the record.

  • Anything else

Free text. Loser wears the jersey. Loser does the group's fantasy recap.

Settlement

Built for the moment somebody's wrong

Both sides confirm the winner, so nobody rewrites history. And the terms can be negotiated up front: don’t like the bet as proposed, counter it before you accept.

  • One-tap agreement

One side calls it, the other taps “I agree.” Done and recorded.

  • 72-hour auto-decide

If the other side goes quiet, your call stands after three days. Silence isn't a strategy.

  • Draws and no-contests

Genuinely unresolvable? Call it a draw, or void it together as a no-contest.

  • Disputes, contained

Disagree and the bet flags itself — with its own thread to fight it out until someone folds.

The thread

Trash talk, on the record

Every bet carries its own chat — the negotiation, the mid-game panic, the concession speech, all attached to the bet forever. Emoji reactions included, because some messages only deserve a skull.

When it’s settled, the thread stays. Six months later, “remember the taco bet” is one tap away.

Invites

Works on friends who don't have the app

Send a bet to anyone. The invite link renders the full bet — terms, stakes, deadline — before they’ve created an account, so they’re accepting the actual bet, not a mystery. Sign-up happens after they tap Accept, and the bet is waiting on the other side.

Links stay live for seven days. If they duck it, it expires and you get told — which is its own kind of victory.
