Eligibility

By continuing past this screen, you represent and warrant that you are at least eighteen (18) years of age. Friendly Stakes is not intended for use by minors, and access is limited to adults.

If you do not meet this age requirement, you may not use the Service, and you should exit this screen now.

We are not the house

Friendly Stakes is a scoreboard. It is not a bookmaker, sportsbook, casino, payment processor, or wallet, and it does not operate as any form of gaming or financial institution.

We do not accept stakes, disburse winnings, broker settlements, or set odds on any wager you create. The Service functions solely as a ledger for tracking informal wagers that you and another person have agreed to between yourselves.

No bookmaking, brokering, or commercial gambling

You agree not to use Friendly Stakes to operate, advertise, or facilitate any commercial gambling enterprise. This includes, without limitation, bookmaking, numbers operations, any arrangement in which you collect a fee or commission, or acting as an intermediary between parties with whom you are not personally acquainted.

If you are uncertain whether your intended use is permitted under this section, you should refrain from that use.

Stakes are symbolic

Any “stake” you track within the Service — whether expressed as money, drinks, chores, meals, bragging rights, or any other obligation — is a symbolic record of what you and another user have agreed to between yourselves.

We make no warranty that any stake will be honored, and we accept no responsibility to enforce, collect, or arbitrate it.

The settlement of any real-world consequence arising from a recorded wager remains solely between you and the other party, and Friendly Stakes will not intervene.

Lawful use only

You agree not to use the Service in any manner that violates any applicable law, regulation, or ordinance, including, without limitation, laws concerning unlawful gambling, racketeering, money laundering, solicitation, harassment, fraud, defamation, or the transmission of threats.

User conduct

You agree to treat other users with respect. The chat associated with a bet may not be used for harassment, coercion, threats, slurs, or to intimidate another user into honoring a stake.

We reserve the right to remove content, suspend your account, or terminate your access for material violations of these Terms, at our discretion.

No warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Friendly Stakes makes no guarantee as to the accuracy, timeliness, or outcome of any wager logged on the Service.

We are not responsible for settlements that are not honored, or for any dispute, strained relationship, or other consequence arising between users in connection with a recorded wager.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, you will be asked to review and accept the updated version before continuing to use the Service. Your continued use following acceptance constitutes your agreement to the updated Terms.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, at our discretion, for material or repeated violations of these Terms, for use that exposes Friendly Stakes or its users to legal risk, or for conduct that undermines the spirit of friendly competition.

You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings. Certain provisions — including your agreement to use the Service lawfully and our disclaimers of liability — survive termination.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction specified on the effective date of this agreement, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
